Norfolk County has been deemed an 'Emerging Region' according to The Wine Country Travel Guide. Ontario produces excellent cool climate wines because the type of grapes that grow here benefit from latitude, lakes and limestone.

The area between Port Rowan and Turkey Point has been described as “promising” due to the summer temperatures being slightly warmer than the Niagara Region. As part of the Ontario South Coast Wineries and Growers Association, their collective goal is to become Canada’s next official wine region.

Craft breweries are adding to the mix as well.  Many offer tastings, food and entertainment in interesting locations.
The wineries and breweries are a microcosm for the hospitality of the region, and also an attestation to the quality of the soil.
